Teaching Stream faculty interview talks are composed of two 30-minute teaching demonstrations with time for questions after each demo.
The timing of the teaching demos is: 10:40-11:20am and 11:20am-12:00pm.
Michael Liut is a contractually appointed Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in Computer Science at the University of Toronto Mississauga. He currently teaches the introduction to programming, computer science, databases, and networking courses. Prior to joining UTM, Michael completed his Ph.D. in stringology (combinatorics on words) and M. Eng. in data science at McMaster University. Michael prides himself in fostering an environment of educational excellence through active and experiential learning, having completed two certificates at the MacPherson Institute in the foundations and scholarship of teaching and learning. In addition, Michael was part of the teams that first brought the introduction to programming and introduction to computer science courses into the active learning classrooms at UTM.
