Abstract

Have you ever thought about commercializing your research into a startup? Wondering what the life of an early-stage founder looks like? If yes, this fireside chat provides a peek into the world of entrepreneurship through the eyes of an AI researcher. The discussion will cover topics ranging from understanding the market need for your research, building a team, and raising capital. There will also be time to take questions from the audience.

Speaker Bios

Parasvil Patel is a Partner with Radical Ventures. He partners with entrepreneurs, developing and deploying AI tools. Prior to joining Radical, Parasvil was with KKR and started his career with BCG. He received a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay and an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.

Gennady Pekhimenko is the co-founder and CEO of CentML, a company developing tools to make model training more affordable by simplifying hardware complexities and compiler-level optimizations for developers. He also serves as an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Computer Engineering departments at the University of Toronto where he leads the EcoSystem research group. He is also a Faculty Member at Vector Institute. Gennady received his PhD from the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University.
