The Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto is pleased to announce a new undergraduate research opportunity!
The Undergraduate Toronto Research Experience in CS program pays students to work with one of our professors on a cutting-edge research project.
Program Details
- You must apply and be selected to participate in the research program
- Duration of the program: 16 consecutive weeks (typically mid May – end of August)
- Support: Each student will be paid $7,000 total (or $5000 for salary and $2000 for housing)
- The deadline for applying: January 30, 2012

Eligibility
Applicants MUST:
- Be in their 2nd-year or higher
- Have a cumulative average of at least B- from any Canadian University
- Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada
To Apply
1. Fill out the application form [LINK] by January 30, 2012.
- Provide general information about yourself.
- Provide a statement of research interest (1/2 page limit).
- Provide a scanned copy of your most current official transcript.
- List of at most 5 professors with whom you would like to work this summer. We will do our best to match you with one of those professors.
2. Request a letter of recommendation from one of your professors.
3. Ask your professor to email her/his letter of recommendation to UTRECS by January 30, 2012.
Note: this program is not intended for University of Toronto undergraduates -- they are instead encouraged to apply to the NSERC USRA program.
