LGAC Scholarships

The London Goodenough Association of Canada (LGAC) awards scholarships to Canadian students pursuing graduate studies in London, England. The scholarships are tenable at Goodenough College. For 2010-11, the LGAC will award six or more scholarships, valued at $7,400 Canadian dollars.

Deadline for application is January 8, 2010.

Candidates will be notified of results in late April 2010.

John Charles Polanyi Prizes, 2010

This competition was established to provide annually up to five prizes to outstanding researchers in the early states of their career who are continuing to post-doctoral studies at an Ontario university. This is an interdisciplinary award and students from Computer Science may be nominated.

Award value: $20,000

Departmental Deadline:  December 7, 2009.
This is a firm deadline that will allow time to rank nominations prior to submission to SGS.
Please submit only one copy of the nomination documents to Linda Chow, in the CS Graduate Office.

NSERC's Summer Program in Taiwan

NSERC's Summer Program in Taiwan provides graduate students in natural sciences and/or engineering with a two-month research experience in a university, national laboratory or institute in Taiwan.

Application Deadline: December 9, 2009 (extension of original deadline).

Graduate Professional Skills Program

The Graduate Professional Skills program (GPS) is a new initiative from the School of Graduate Studies that consists of a variety of offerings providing doctoral stream students with a range of optional opportunities for skills development. This includes skills that may be critical to success in the wide range of careers that graduates enter, within and without academe.

2010-2011 Autism Scholars Award

Application procedure and application form

Applicants must be registered PhD students at the time of taking up the award (September 2010) and must remain registered throughout the term of the award. PhD students are eligible to the end of their fifteenth (15th) term (5th year) of full-time study.

Each applicant must submit six copies of the application forms and documents to the School of Graduate Studies Graduate Awards Office, 63 St. George Street, 2nd floor, by Wednesday, January 13, 2010.

Do not submit applications to the CS Graduate Office.

If an applicant needs a transcript copied and certified, please send your request to the CS Grad Office.

Applications require the signature of the Dean of Graduate School. This will be taken care of by the staff at SGS after receipt of the application.
