Title: Who’s afraid of an abstract quantum computer?
With pride and prejudice in mathematical physics, I seek sense and sensibility of computer science, in order to build a meaningful and valuable quantum computer. I have been a pure mathematician with all old dreams of truth and beauty. Suddenly, I was awaken in the new era of quantized world of fantasy and controversy. In particular, I was shocked to find that much of my earlier research in 1970’s have been used intensively in the recent advance of quantum information. As the time runs backwards in an alternating world through the looking glass, I have to come back to the same old scene to release myself from all sorts of quantum entanglements.
This is an expository talk about my personal adventure in Quantum Wonderland. No background knowledge of quantum information will be assumed in this talk.
