Important reminders for computer science graduands:
Arrival on campus
We recommend that you arrive on campus 2 hours prior to the beginning of the ceremony on Friday, June 19. Due to the complex arrangements involved in organizing a successful ceremony, if you arrive late there is no guarantee that you will be able to join the ceremony. It is important that you factor downtown Toronto traffic and highway construction into your travel time – so leave early!
Parking on campus is limited. Public transit is recommended if possible. However, space is usually available at the parking garage at 107 St. George Street (across from Robarts Library). Pay and display machines that accept coin, Visa and Mastercard are available for convenience. Please allow yourself extra time to ensure that you arrive on campus in a timely manner and are able to park your vehicle.
Guest ticket pick-up
Students who reserved tickets but were unable to pick them up in advance of their ceremony may obtain their guest tickets from the Office of Convocation (Simcoe Hall, main lobby, 27 King’s College Circle), next to Convocation Hall. Please make sure you pick up your tickets as early as possible (starting at 8 a.m.) on the day of the ceremony. Bring your student card (or photo ID). Do not send an alternate; only the graduating student may pick-up guest tickets.
Tickets will NOT be available at Bahen Centre on the day of the ceremony. See above.
Please ensure that your guests have their tickets as lost tickets cannot be replaced. Guests without tickets will not be admitted into Convocation Hall. Doors to Convocation Hall open 90 minutes prior to the beginning of each ceremony.
Arrive at University College at least ninety minutes prior to the ceremony (please allow more time if you have not yet picked-up your guest tickets) to pick up your gown & hood from University College (Croft Chapter House) before proceeding to the marshaling rooms in University College.
It is recommended that you leave personal items (purses, coats, cameras) with your guests. There is no secure storage space in University College and all the items you bring must then be carried to Convocation Hall and you’ll need to hold onto these items throughout the proceedings.
To ensure your participation in the ceremony, please arrive by the times provided. If you are late, there is no guarantee you will be able to join the ceremony.
Please return your gown & hood after the ceremony to avoid additional charges.
You and your guests are invited to join Department of Computer Science classmates and faculty members for a celebration at Convocation Plaza (tent outside of Convocation Hall), following the ceremony.
