This year, the department completed the creation of the Centre for Collaborative Interactive Digital Media (CCIDM) in the Bahen Centre. This project, started in 2010, could not have been accomplished without the professional dedication of dgp Lab Systems Administrator John Hancock and Special Projects Coordinator Joseph Raghubar.
The two were recognized with 2012 University of Toronto Excellence Through Innovation Award for their "great range of skills, tremendous efforts, and unwavering commitment to the department." Joseph was noted for his "attention to detail... great technical skill, and tremendous sensitivity" to the effect the construction would have on students and faculty. John was lauded for being "able to sustain a productive research environment, despite the need to disassemble, transport, and reassemble dozens of pieces of equipment unique anywhere in the world," among other duties.
The U of T Excellence Through Innovation Awards were created to recognize the innovative and exemplary work done by administrative colleagues across the university. 109 staff members were recognized this month for their significant efforts to advance the university's strategic objectives.
Congratulations, John and Joseph!!
