Graduate student Jocelyn Simmonds will receive a 2010 Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award at a ceremony on campus this April.
Jocelyn was 1 out of 150 students at the university honoured by this distinguished award, which was created in 1994 by the University of Toronto Alumni Association to recognize students who have made outstanding extra-curricular contributions to their college, faculty or school, or to the university as a whole.
Jocelyn was recognized for her contributions to DCS and beyond: she has acted as a student mentor and a member of the Computer Science Graduate Student Society (CSGSBS), and has also been involved in organizations such as Latinas in Computing and Grace Hopper (Women in Computing) events and activities.
Congratulations to Jocelyn on this great honour! Find more information on the Cressy Awards here
