This spring, PhD student Carrie Demmans Epp was named a W. Garfield Weston Doctoral Fellow with 15 other graduate students at the U of T.
The Weston Doctoral Fellowships were created to support "globally oriented thinkers and innovators." Each recipient is awarded $50,000 "to further their research, broaden their skills and expand their networks in an international setting."
Carrie's research involves the use of mobile phone applications, particularly using apps to improve the lives of recent immigrants and others learning English.
