Computer Science PhD candidate Sami Siddique appeared on CBC's Dragon's Den earlier this month.
Synaptop developed as a personal project during his graduate studies. Synaptop allows people to interact together online, in real time, regardless of platform or device, including collaborating via cloud or watching movies together.

Siddique has an undergraduate degree in computer engineering. He started his PhD research in computer science through his interest in bringing technology and medicine together. His area is image-guided surgery and radiotherapy in conjunction with Princess Margaret Hospital. More specifically, his research involves developing technologies to lower ionizing dose during image-guided clinical procedures to minimize the incidence of cancer and radiation-induced injuries. He is currently in the last year of his program.
