The CSLab core staff team, Nicolas Merkel, Neil Reilly, Chris Siebenmann and Simon
Weber-Brown, have been granted a 2010 University of Toronto "Excellence
through Innovation" Award.
The University of Toronto's Excellence through Innovation
Awards acknowledge staff " 'innovation' and 'above-and-beyond'
contributions towards the University's vision to be one of the world's foremost
research-intensive universities and an institution that nurtures the creative

The award nomination commends the team and states "...the work of
the team has provided concrete benefits to the department's
research mission, and has influenced the university's future
networking storage infrastructure too.This is far more than the
one-time renewal of a department's aging networking and storage
architecture, it is really the establishment of a new paradigm
for designing, maintaining and renewing network and storage
infrastructure in general.This
accomplishment is highly significant
[and has] had a profound and positive impact..."
